A high level laser like mine requires annual maintenance during which all its components are checked and recalibrated, an important procedure that ensures everything continues to work properly. Such a visit from the Coolskin mechanic also allows us to see what my trusty flash heads look like on the inside, starting from the diode stack that generates the desired wavelength, through the condenser lens that bundles the light together towards the sapphire contact point transfering it to the skin.
